Team

The Team view allows you to manage who has access to your PixelFiddler space and control what they can do. This page explains how team roles work and how to manage your team members effectively.

PixelFiddler uses a role-based access system to help you control what team members can do within your space. There are two primary roles:

The Owner has complete control over the space, including:

  • Full access to all space features and settings
  • Ability to manage billing and subscriptions
  • Permission to invite new team members
  • Permission to kick any users from space
  • Access to all media sources and transformations
  • Ability to update space settings and configurations

Important: Every space must have at least one Owner. This is typically the person who created the space.

Maintainers have extensive access to work with your media and sources, but with some limitations:

  • Full access to media sources and transformations
  • Ability to configure media settings and watermarks
  • Access to metrics and monitoring
  • Permission to manage media sources

Maintainers cannot:

  • Access billing information or invoices
  • Manage subscriptions or payment methods
  • Invite new team members to the space
  • Remove team members from the space
  • Change the space owner or modify team member roles

This role is ideal for developers and team members who need to integrate and work with your media API without requiring access to financial or administrative functions.

To see who has access to your space:

  1. Navigate to your space dashboard
  2. Click on the Team section in the sidebar
  3. You’ll see a list of all current team members with their roles

The team list shows:

  • Each member’s name and email address
  • Their assigned role (Owner or Maintainer)

Only space Owners can invite new members to join a space.

To invite someone to your team:

  1. Go to the Team view in your space
  2. Click the Invite Member button
  3. Enter the person’s email address
  4. Select their role:
  • Choose Maintainer for developers and team members who need to work with media
  • Choose Owner only if they need full administrative and billing access
  1. Click Send Invitation

The invited person will receive an email with instructions to accept the invitation and join your space.

Once someone accepts an invitation, they’ll appear as an active member of your team.

If you need to remove someone’s access to your space:

  1. Find the team member in your Team view
  2. Click the “Kick user” icon you can find in the actions column
  3. Select Remove from Space
  4. Confirm the removal

Note: When you remove a team member, they immediately lose access to your space, including all media sources, settings, and data.

  • Use the Maintainer role for team members who need to work with your media API but don’t need billing access
  • Reserve the Owner role for trusted administrators who need full control
  • Regularly review your team members to ensure everyone still needs access
  • Remove team members who have left your organization promptly
  • Update roles when team members’ responsibilities change

For business continuity, consider having at least two Owners in your space. This ensures someone can always manage billing and administrative tasks if one Owner is unavailable.

Can I change someone’s role after inviting them?

Currently, you cannot directly change a team member’s role. To change someone from Maintainer to Owner (or vice versa), you’ll need to remove them from the space and send a new invitation with the correct role or contact support and we will change the role internally.

What happens to API keys when I remove a team member?

Removing a team member doesn’t automatically invalidate API credentials for the space. If security is a concern, consider rotating your signature keys or API tokens after removing someone with access to sensitive credentials.

Can Maintainers see usage metrics and analytics?

Yes, Maintainers have full access to view metrics, analytics, and monitoring data for the space. This helps them optimize media delivery and troubleshoot issues.

How many team members can I have?

We do not limit the number of users assigned to a specific space. However, for a security reason there is a limit of 50 per space.
